A nice piece from Lisa Murray at the AFR today is important for next year:

…next year’s Party Congress marks the end of Mr Xi’s first five-year term and five out of the top seven political leaders will leave the Politburo Standing Committee, having reached the generally accepted retirement age of 68 for top cadres.

That should pave the way for the next generation of leaders, including the eventual successor to Mr Xi. However, instead of focusing on the Party’s rising stars, speculation remains fixed on the political futures of Mr Xi and Premier Li Keqiang.
