ANZ chief economist Warren Hogan said there’d been a broad upswing in hiring intentions since early 2014.

But he added that there were signs in the trend numbers that job ads have lost some momentum in the past six months.

“This is only an early signal and will need to be confirmed by more data,” Hogan said, adding it was unlikely that the Australian economy will this year enjoy the same strong rate of job creation witnessed in 2015.
