WA’s world-leading shipbuilding prowess has been snubbed in a politically charged decision to build the next generation of warships in South Australia.

Despite the US Navy contracting the Henderson-based Austal to build frigates, Tony Abbott has declared that Australia’s frigates will be built in Adelaide, most probably at the trouble-plagued Australian Submarine Corporation shipyard.
