CPI comes in high

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released the Consumer Price Index for the December quarter and it was soft at 0.2% on the quarter and 1.7% on the year in the headline figures but the analytical series were well ahead of forecast at 0.7% versus 0.5% expected:
