Ebola on the Gold Coast?

A man feared to have contracted the potentially deadly Ebola virus is being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital, according to reports.

The man, from Southport on the Gold Coast, returned from The Congo in Africa two days ago and had been seriously ill fsince, emergency crews have told The Gold Coast Bulletin.

A hospital spokeswoman told the newspaper they were preparing for an incoming patient who would be “isolated and assessed”.

The paper reports paramedics instructed to wear protective clothing before taking him to hospital.
