DEEWR Job Vacancy Index falls go on

The DEEWR Job Vacancy Index for January (covering December) is out and shows no abatement in job ad losses down 2.8% for the month and 24.8% over the year:

There was a glimmer of hope in the falls being less widespread with four industry groups adding job ads, but all major states are still falling:

The skilled vacancy component was worse still, down by 3.8% on the month led by engineers which appear to be suffering something of a bust, down 30-40% year on year:

Another glimmer of hope was the small rise on construction trades. But another weak report overall.
