Gojeera Takaichi crushes Albo’s gas cowards
Albo the coward hasn’t read The Art of the Deal.
Countries that supply Australia with much of its fuel, such as Japan, Malaysia and South Korea, depend on Australia as a major source of their gas supply and are also major investors in Australia’s huge gas export industry, based in Western Australia and Queensland. They have for years petitioned the government against imposing new taxes on the industry.
…Albanese, who will host Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi from Friday, said his top priorities were boosting Australia’s petrol and diesel imports and maintaining the country’s reputation.
“Australia is a reliable supplier of energy. That’s what we do, that’s our reputation,” he said in Perth on Wednesday.
“That’s my reputation as well, as prime minister, and I have good relationships with all of our partners.”
I’m so pleased Albo has preserved his reputation as PM of Asian gas supply and fuel beggary.
I ask you, does it make more sense to kill off your leverage before negotiations?
Or is it a better tactic to apply the tax and offer temporary waivers in return for fuel?
Moreover, is it advisable to rationalise the trading off of much-needed gas taxes for much-needed fuel supplies? Isn’t this justifying one failure with another?
Why not ask Wang, who is galvanising around Asian capitals with the begging bowl out?
Senator Wong travelled to South Korea this week as part of a trip to Australia’s key Asian partners including China and Japan, in a bid to strengthen security and secure fuel supplies.
These are obviously rhetorical questions that nobody asks, because we all know the answer: Albo would justify selling his mother if he failed to pay his rent.
There is better news in this.
The owner of Victoria’s major gas storage facility says it has begun planning and engineering a major extension of the plant, a development that would increase its size by one-fifth ahead of the closure of big coal generators.
Lochard Energy, which owns the Iona gas storage plant in south-west Victoria, has begun early works on a major new expansion, prompted partly by the likely increase in gas demand from planned coal closures.
The plant has the capacity to supply half the state’s gas needs during winter, when cold weather and short days drastically increase the demand for the fuel for power and heating in the country’s most gas-dependent state.
Iona has a capacity of 25Pj. VIC uses 120Pj in winter.
Why aren’t they doubling or tripling Iona’s capacity in line with a gas reservation policy?
Especially since APA is expanding the QLD-VIC gas pipeline.
Because Albo is a gutless, brainless grub.
