Israel rolls out fourth COVID jab

Israel has become the first nation to roll out a fourth COVID jab:

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett says people over age 60 and medical teams will be eligible for a fourth COVID-19 vaccination, following the recommendation of an expert panel, news agency AFP reports.

“I gave an order to prepare immediately for a fourth vaccination,” Bennett said on Twitter, with a spokesperson saying Israel would be the world’s first country to administer the fourth shot.

“This is wonderful news that will assist us in getting through the Omicron wave that is engulfing the world.”

Israel’s COVID cases peaked in September when the nation was rolling out its third jab; although hospitalisations were below the January peak:

Pfizer must be laughing all the way to the bank. Israel will inevitably follow up with a fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth jab.
