Job hiring picks-up as Sydney and Melbourne reopens

Callam Pickering, economist at global jobs site Indeed, ha updated his time series tracking job postings, which continue to surge as NSW and Victoria emerge from lockdown.

Job postings are now 64% above their level on 1 February 2020 – Indeed’s pre-pandemic baseline – with new postings on the Indeed website for one-week or less rising sharply:

Job postings in NSW and Victoria have surged in recent weeks as businesses prepared for reopening. Together these two states have accounted for 85% of the increase in job postings since the beginning of October:
