Tourism industry demands stimulus

Australia’s former Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy expects significant border restrictions to be in place for most of 2021, despite the imminent arrival of COVID-19 vaccines. Murphy, who is now the head of the federal health department, says it is likely that quarantine arrangements for international arrivals are likely to remain in place for some time, with no significant level of international travel likely until at least 2022:

“I think that the answer is probably no,” Professor Kelly said.

“I think that we’ll go most of this year with still substantial border restrictions.
