As noted earlier in brief, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for the December quarter 0f 2015, which registered falling (albeit higher than anticipated) headline inflation, with underlying inflation also remaining well in check.
According to the ABS, headline CPI rose by 0.4% in the December quarter, down from the September quarter’s 0.5% rise, but above market analyst’s expectations of 0.3% (see next chart).
