    I read of China’s blocking of references to the Egyptian situation over the weekend – a reminder of the very real internal sensitivities at play in China, the difficulties of maintaining equilibrium in a one party, totalitarian state in which the majority of its population are extremely poor, seriously adversely affected by inflation in food prices, growing awareness of their predicament in relation to western democracies, subject the the petty power plays of local bureaucrats, and a total disregard to their plight from the central government.
