ABS: Rental growth stabilises at 22-year low

The September quarter consumer price index (CPI) data, released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), revealed a stabilisation of rental growth at the national capital city level.

According to the ABS, rents nationally grew by 0.3% over the September quarter of 2016 and by 0.7% over the year – the equal lowest annual growth rate since December 1994 (see below charts).
