Yet right now the bourse is mincing about at 4974:
Have a go yer mug!
It’ll be a quiet day today – Chinese New Year and Japanese holiday.
We take our leads from others (i.e standard operating procedure in almost everything Australia does….) so I can’t see much of a move today…
Although if the boys in Sydney get back from lunch half full they might bid the index up from 2pm onwards..

Seems retailers are doing bloody well – JBH up 12% on results, HVN up 4% tagging along.
Days like this I hate my rule of not holding stocks through earnings announcements or dividends (but then I remind myself when they gap down through my stop that its a good rule over the long run).
Looked more like a 2pm sell off today! Psychological resistance set in with the ASX All Ords getting very close to 5000 for a long while.
What we need is more bad economic news, thats what revs up the market nowadays!
Will Arnie be doing the announcement?
